They had their own way of working out that Diego was sure burned more calories than any cardio he did in a gym. He didn't worry about her physique, smitten with more than what was on the surface. However, he did worry about Jessica defending herself given as many powered individuals as there seemed to be in this world. It had been the reason she was against him fighting for money.
Glimpses of Jessica having to fight off Luke Cage had come to mind and Diego wanted her to learn a few moves to fend off or counter someone who could match her in strength. Yet it wasn't something he mentioned to her, convinced it could wait until they moved in. They already talked about christening every room in the place which was incentive enough to wait a little before asking her to train.
None of those thoughts came to mind as Danny offered him a drink and his soulmate telling him to get lit. Amusement ghosted Diego's lips as his brow furrowed with question, ultimately accepting the drink from Rand while holding a leery expression. "If it goes good with the food, I'll take it." The billionaire orphan looked rather happy with himself as he poured them each a glass.
There was talk of Harlem's Hero, Daredevil and the Punisher among the construction crew. Similar to Jessica's concern that Diego might end up fighting someone with powers, Raul and Easy talked about underground matches that had others with abilities. Jermaine had piped up to say that none of them actually saw any of the fights--they only heard of them.
"Where are these fights supposed to be?" Diego asked as the drink started to have an immediate effect. Maybe the alcohol content was strong, or it was having hardly eaten all day, OR not having had any real liquor in a long time. Either way, Jessica likely could feel the light buzz begin.
"Whoa, you need to sip between eating. Not eat between sips," Danny admonished his friend who polished off a glass but was only a few bites into his plate.
